Implicit in the earning of the ACSA (Apple Certified System Administrator) certification is that the candidates have apprentice knowledge of Apple technical architecture and an ability to install and configure machines; architect and maintain networks; enable, customize, tune, and troubleshoot a wide range of services; and integrate Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, and other Apple technologies within a multi-platform networked environment.
What are the compulsory exams to earn credit towards ACSA certification?
Candidates who wish to become a ACSA must pass the MD 9L0-609, XA 9L0-610, DA 9L0-611 and SP 9L0-612 exam. In preparation for this exam candidates are advised to also do the training course Mac OS X Deployment v10.4 course, Xsan Administration v1.1 course, Directory Services Integration and Administration (Client/Server) v10.4 course, Security Best Practices for Mac OS X v10.4 course. (Please note that the training course is a recommendation.) This training course is available from Apple Bootcamp.
What can be done in terms of Recertification for ACSA?
The certification validity period is two years. Recertification will thus be required.
